What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in the hemp plant, accounting for up to 40% of the plant's extract. CBD is considered non-psychoactive and has been found to offer many significant health and wellness benefits without creating risks of dependency or abuse. Scientific and clinical research underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions.

What is Hemp?

Hemp is a distinct strain of plant species with unique phytochemical compositions and uses that is typically grown specifically for its many derived products. Hemp has higher concentrations of Cannabidiol (CBD) and lower concentrations of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). CBD typically is derived from the leaves of the hemp plant while Hemp Oil typically is derived from the seeds.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

While both Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are believed to produce significant benefits, CBD does not have the psychoactive effects like those caused by THC and may in fact contain opposing properties, including producing greater mental clarity.

How do I select my CBD dosage?

Many people consider 5 milligrams (“mg”) of Cannabidiol (CBD) as the industry standard "micro dose" and we believe it is a good place to start. From that 5 mg starting point we recommend that you increase your dosage by 5 mg increments at a time until you find what you feel to be the right dose for you. Some people dealing with severe pain or other ailments may require significantly higher dosage levels. Some research indicates that absorption and the effect of CBD has more to do with age than height or weight, so taking the time to find your perfect dosage, product, and method for you, is likely to give the best results. It is highly unlikely that you will "overdose" on CBD but you should always listen to your body and not overload your system.

Remember: Always seek the advice of your physician before you start taking CBD, especially if you take other medication or are pregnant or nursing. Please see more information here.

How do I select my products?

You should select your products based on personal preference and also consider the symptoms you are targeting, your preferred method of ingestion, and your desired dosage. Generally speaking, vaporizers and tinctures offer the fastest means of absorption while capsules will generally have a longer onset, typically around an hour, depending on how long ago, and how much, you last ate. Topical applications such lotions, balms, and facemasks will offer slower but more uniform and longer lasting absorption for skin treatments. Generally speaking, products should be used consistently for at least 30 days to get the optimal effect.

Remember: Always seek the advice of your physician before you start taking CBD, especially if you take other medication or are pregnant or nursing. Please see more information here.

How do I know what to expect?

The timing and nature of the effect of CBD will be different for each person based on a number of factors including individual absorption rates. Our understanding of CBD is constantly evolving but as of now, there are no known serious side effects, however CBD may cause drowsiness. CBD is non-psychoactive so there isn’t a feeling of being “high” or “stoned”, but some people experience a relaxed state or euphoria, and for this reason a lot of people try their first dose in the evening before bed.

How do I store the CBD Tinctures and Confections?

Cannabidiol (“CBD”) Tinctures and Confections are best stored in a cool, dark place to preserve freshness. Avoid placing products near heat, direct sunlight, or the freezer.

What is the difference between “Full Spectrum” and “Isolate” CBD?

“Isolate” Cannabidiol (“CBD”) is isolated, singular cannabinoids. These types of extracts can have a higher concentration of one type of cannabinoid. When the plant matter and excess plant material is stripped away you should get a higher concentration and no herbaceous, plant material flavors. Isolate CBD contains no THC.

“Full Spectrum” CBD means that you are getting the entire spectrum of plant medicine and Phytocannabinoids, which encourage the entourage effect. The entourage effect is when the benefits of all of the plant matter and cannabinoids work together to help to heal.

Both infusion methods are effective, but it is up to the consumer to find what works best for their palate and health needs.
